Muhammad Shahzar Ilahi is a CEDR (Center for Effective Dispute Resolution, London) Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator with expertise in Investor-State, energy, and property disputes. He is the Co-Founder and Associate Director of Musaliha International Center for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, Pakistan’s first Federal Government and High-Court-notified private ADR center. Shahzar has actively been involved in designing and implementing comprehensive Alternative Dispute Resolution programs across Sindh, Islamabad, and Gilgit Baltistan with an emphasis on creating a robust mediation ecosystem in collaboration with provincial High Courts, the Federal Government and international ADR-centric organizations. He is the co-author of MICADR’s Mediation Advocacy program, Pakistan’s first certified Mediation Advocacy program that has been delivered in collaboration with the Islamabad Bar Council and Sindh High Court Bar Association. Shahzar also leads business development for MICADR, which has successfully managed to bring Pakistan’s leading commercial entities, including the Sui Southern Gas Company, Karachi Electric, Federal Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gul Ahmed, onto the ADR ecosystem. Shahzar has also actively been involved in the development of legislative instruments for enabling mediation, such as the Gilgit Baltistan Mediation Bill 2023.
